There are may causes of fever, most commonly it can be a sign of the presence of infection especially if it is lasting for just a few days. Prolonged fever especially if associated with many symptoms should be evaluated by a doctor who can then request some blood test in order to limit the differential diagnoses and causes of fever. Other medical conditions present in an individual are also important factors to be considerd before an actual diagnoses and cause of the fever is known. The longer the duration of the fever of your father, the more reason and need for him to see a doctor. |
