The Medical City (TMC), the country’s largest healthcare network, recently held the second run of its “Be Healthy Always Movement,” or BHAM, a nationwide campaign which aims to empower Filipinos to take a more proactive role in caring for their health by ensuring regular medical checkups.

More than 2,000 people trooped to Market! Market! Activity Center in Taguig City on March 5 and 6, 2016 to take part in the event dubbed “Be Healthy Always: Get Checked!” and avail of free medical services and consultations with TMC doctors.

Specific hubs were available for the following areas: Wellness, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Diabetes care, Nutrition, Pediatric and Women’s health. Primary care physicians were also present to recommend the appropriate screening tests. Among the services offered for free were Random Blood Sugar (RBS) test, Fundus eye check, and ultrasound for pregnant women.

In addition to these, there were featured health talks with TMC experts during the two-day event. These health talks were geared at educating attendees on pediatric and women’s health, glaucoma, diabetes complications, common skin problems, nutrition and Basic Life Support.

The previous event was held at TriNoma Mall in Quezon City on October 10 and 11, 2015. Similar activities will take place in other parts of the metropolis and in Luzon in the coming months leading up to the 50th anniversary of TMC in 2017.
