Women’s Health Care Center

The Women’s Health Care Center is designed to be a one-step center for the assessment of risks for abnormalities in all aspects of OB-GYN care, from womb to tomb. The WHCC houses The Medical City’s ultrasound specialty center for obstetrics and gynecology. Our board-certified subspecialists in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound provide comprehensive ultrasound imaging services for women of all ages, ranging from basic transvaginal ultrasound of the female reproductive system to advanced ultrasound procedures that can detect ovarian masses and assess the individual patient’s risk of malignancy, and procedures that can map out deep infiltrating endometriosis.

Basic and advanced gynecologic ultrasound services at the WHCC include the following:

1. Transvaginal ultrasound
2. Transrectal ultrasound
3. Antral follicle count for polycystic ovarian syndrome diagnosis, and follicle monitoring for fertility assessment
4. 3D ultrasound diagnosis of uterine anomalies
5. Sonovaginography for assessment of deep infiltrating endometriosis
6. Ultrasound of ovarian masses, including IOTA Adnex risk assessment
7. Ultrasound assessment of endometrial pathology, including saline infusion sonography
8. Ultrasound assessment of the pelvic floor

In addition, the WHCC houses the following specialty clinics:

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) Clinic

For women with heavy menstrual bleeding or irregular/abnormal uterine bleeding, this clinic offers services for endometrial assessment, including ultrasound diagnosis and saline infusion sonography, as well as outpatient procedures for endometrial sampling.

Cervix-Endometrium-Ovaries (CEO) Clinic

This clinic offers services for assessment of risk of malignancies in the cervix, endometrium, and ovaries, and includes the following:

1. Pap smear (Conventional, Thin-Prep)
2. HPV DNA testing
3. Colposcopy–guided biopsy/endocervical curettage
4. Cryosurgery
5. Endometrial biopsy
6. Cervical Polypectomy
7. Evaluation of endometrial and ovarian pathology using state of the art ultrasound machine capable of IOTA risk assessment, color Doppler characterization and 3D ultrasound

Infertility Clinic

For couples desirous of getting pregnant, this clinic offers services for assessment of the pelvic organs, such as 5D-Ultraasound antral follicle count and monitoring, 3D-Ultrasound evaluation for uterine malformation and hysterosonosalpingography (HSSG). Ultrasound-guided assisted reproductive technique called intra-uterine insemination (IUI) is also offered.

Menopause Clinic

This clinic provides the special healthcare needs of women in the perimenopausal and menopausal age group. Services include packages for diagnostic examinations of the menopausal woman and counseling, support and treatment of various menopausal symptoms.

Pelvic Floor Clinic

This provides diagnosis and management of various conditions involving the pelvic floor, such as urinary incontinence among women and pelvic organ prolapse.
