The Medical City launches four specialty clinics to expand care for patients with hormonal, thyroid, and weight-related conditions

The Medical City has expanded its Endocrine, Diabetes, and Thyroid Center with four dedicated specialty clinics, Pituitary, Gender, Weight Management, and Thermal Ablation, offering more coordinated, multidisciplinary, and patient-centered care for hormonal, thyroid, and weight-related conditions.

Pasig City, Philippines — Patients with complex hormonal disorders, thyroid conditions, and weight management concerns can now access more specialized and integrated care at The Medical City (TMC) following the launch of four new specialty clinics under its Endocrine, Diabetes, and Thyroid Center (EDTC).

The newly launched clinics include:

  • Pituitary Clinic – Provides comprehensive care for patients with pituitary tumors and hormonal disorders through a multidisciplinary team composed of endocrinologists, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologists, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and specialized nurses. This approach helps streamline diagnosis, treatment planning, and long-term follow-up.
  • Gender Clinic – Offers evidence-based, inclusive healthcare services, including hormone therapy monitoring, preventive care, and specialist referrals, ensuring patients receive care in a safe and respectful environment.
  • Weight Management Clinic – Delivers personalized, medically supervised programs that combine lifestyle interventions, medical treatment, and long-term monitoring to help patients achieve sustainable health goals.
  • Thermal Ablation Clinic – Provides minimally invasive treatment for benign thyroid nodules through Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) and Microwave Ablation (MWA). These procedures can reduce nodule size and symptoms while helping patients avoid surgery, shorten recovery time, minimize scarring, and preserve thyroid function when appropriate.

While these services have long been available at TMC through various departments and specialties, the establishment of dedicated clinics brings them together under a more coordinated and patient-focused model of care. This allows patients to access specialized expertise more easily and experience a smoother journey from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up.

Dr. Ruben G. Kasala, EVP and CEO of TMC Ortigas and an endocrinologist, said the initiative reflects the institution's commitment to making specialized care more accessible and convenient for patients.

Dr. Ruben G. Kasala delivers opening remarks at the ceremonial launch of the new clinics.

"This initiative allows us to make highly specialized care more accessible while improving the overall patient experience," said Dr. Kasala. "By bringing experts together in one coordinated system, patients can receive more seamless care and better support throughout their treatment journey."

The launch of the four clinics coincides with the 12th anniversary of the EDTC, highlighting The Medical City's continuing commitment to providing innovative, patient-centered care for Filipinos.
