TMC Pioneers Electronic Storage Card for Personal Health Records

Lending a high-tech touch to its brand of personalized and customized health care, The Medical City (TMC) launches the e-Partner Card, the Philippines’ first individual electronic storage card for patients’ personal health records. Similar to a flash drive, the card can be plugged into any computer’s USB port for the sharing and uploading of in-patient and out-patient medical histories, MRI images, CT Scans, Echocardiograms, digital X-rays, prescriptions, and other documents pertinent to a patient’s health, all without Internet connectivity. The e-Partner Card is TMC’s exclusive version of the Individual Personal Health Electronic Record (iPHER™) device introduced by global medical service provider World of Wellness.

Upon every visit to TMC, patients with e-Partner Cards need only submit their cards to the service unit’s charging clerk to have their latest records uploaded. The card can also collect rewards points each time the patient seeks care at either TMC’s main hospital or one of its satellite clinics. The card is also especially useful for frequent travelers, as it can be used anywhere in the world, translates records into a variety of languages, and offers secure data back-up.
