The Wellness Lounge

The Wellness Lounge is a care facility that offers comfortable rooms for patients with low nursing care who are transitioning from the hospital to their home, or from one care setting and to another. It bridges the gap among providers, services, and settings, and provides a safe place for the next stage of recovery. The unit also facilitates patient wellness by providing easy and immediate access to medical services necessary to help patients and their families regain a certain level of independence.

Located at the 7th Floor Podium Building, the lounge is equipped with five deluxe rooms and can accommodate patients booking a short- or long-term stay. The packages include the patient’s room, board, and meals. 

Wellness Lounge Patients
The program covers adult and geriatric patients who require regular outpatient procedures such as:

  • Ostomy, NGT, catheter, and wound care

  • Antibiotics completion

  • Dialysis

  • Physical rehabilitation program completion

  • Post-operative patients, and

  • Patients who are preparing for home care. 

It also covers patients of the Wellness and Aesthetics Institute such as:

  • Local and International outpatient ECU patients, and

  • Geriatric patients under the Active Living program.

Admission Requirements and Procedures

The Wellness Lounge is open for scheduling from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Mondays thru Saturdays (excluding holidays) while the actual unit is operational 24/7. The patient must meet the following criteria to qualify for admission to the Wellness Lounge:

  • Adult or geriatric patient

  • Ready for discharge as recommended by the attending physician

  • Medically stable with vital signs within normal range

  • Depending on their medical condition, some patients will be required to hire a private duty nurse (PDN) or caregiver to monitor them for the duration of their stay. This is also subject to the assessment of Remote Care Services and their attending physician. Should the patient not have a PDN or caregiver available, we can refer them to an accredited nursing agency. 

  • Certain medical equipment (e.g., oxygen tanks, nebulizers) needed by the patient. The packages do not include the provision of medical equipment but should the patient need such equipment, we can refer them to a supplier. 

The Wellness Lounge does not accept pediatric, palliative, infectious diseases, and psychiatric patients.  

Patients may be referred for admission by the following:

  • Remote Care Services

  • Attending Physician

  • International Patient Concierge

The unit also accepts walk-in patients - provided that they meet the criteria and requirements. Before admission, patients will be required to fill out a registration form and a consent form. 

Advantages and Benefits of the Wellness Lounge

The Wellness Lounge provides patients with ease of access to the hospital’s medical services and tertiary-care facilities such as the ambulatory care center and radiology. Patients can easily avail of outpatient procedures at their own convenience. Assistance for the patient’s follow-up consults and other medical appointments with their doctors can be provided.

The unit also links the patient to Remote Care Services. They can provide information that can help the patient and their family learn more about the patient’s needs for the next stage of recovery, helping them regain a certain level of independence and transition back to living at home.

It also provides geriatric and ambulant patients with a comfortable place to stay for active and assisted living, respectively. 

As a hospital-based care facility, The Wellness Lounge is equipped with medical resuscitation equipment and a Rapid Response Team 24/7, providing patients with immediate access to acute resuscitation services if needed. 

At the Wellness Lounge, we aim to support patients throughout their journey to recovery with a seamless array of services, enabling them to receive excellent, high quality care at the right place and at the right time.
