Be Healthy Always: Get Checked!

More than 2,000 people trooped to TriNoma Mall in Quezon City last weekend to take part in the kick-off event of The Medical City’s Be Healthy Always Movement which aims to empower Filipinos to take a more proactive role in caring for their health by ensuring regular check-ups.

The two-day event dubbed “Be Healthy Always: Get Checked!” which was held at the TriNoma activity center on October 10 and 11, 2015 provided the public a chance to avail of free medical consultations in the following areas: Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Wellness, Diabetes, Women’s Health and Pediatric Health.

To start the occasion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a short program was held for bloggers and media guests. TMC President and CEO Dr. Alfredo R.A. Bengzon delivered the opening remarks while Jem Bengzon, TMC Clinic Marketing Consultant, gave an overview about the Be Healthy Always Movement. Dr. Mariann Almajar, TMC Clinic Medical Director, led the Pledge for a Healthier Philippines.

Registration to avail of the free medical services and consultations opened at 11am. Among the medical services offered for free were Hepa B screening, Random Blood Sugar (RBS) test, physical breast exam, ultrasound for pregnant women, Fundus eye check, hand grip test, functional reach test, and nutrition counselling.

The event also featured health talks with TMC experts geared at educating the public on common myths surrounding certain diseases and other facets of health as well as promoting a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle.

TMC’s partners during the event were Zenith Medical Equipment, Inc., Unilab Consumer Health, Rebmann, Inc., Marben Commercial, Biocare Medical System, Aimed Advance Imaging Solutions, Scientific Biotech Specialties, Inc., Slimmers World, Watson’s, and Johnson & Johnson Phils., Inc.
