Breast Cancer Awareness Month at The Medical City

The Medical City celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the theme “Early detection is your best protection.”





A series of activities were lined up for the month of October starting with a Fun Walk and opening of an art exhibit titled “Babae sa Ating Paningin” on Wednesday (October 1, 2014).





TMC President and CEO Dr. Alfredo R.A. Bengzon, Chairman of the Board Dr. Augusto P. Sarmiento, SVP for Patient Services Group Virginia B. Alano, Cancer Center Director Dr. Daniel Alonzo, Breast Clinic Director Dr. Erwin Alcazaren, TMC doctors, managers, medical and non-medical staff, and breast cancer patients and their families joined the Fun Walk held within the vicinity of the hospital which was followed by a short program and opening of the art exhibit at the lobby. The event was made livelier by the famous Higantes from Angono and the Muzon Elementary School band from Taytay, Rizal.



The presence of Higantes in the event signifies that early detection is a giant step toward being protected from breast cancer.



On October 4, 2014, a breast cancer lay forum was held from 9am to 12nn and the Breast Cancer Support Group anniversary at 1pm at the 4th Floor
Conference Room of The Medical City.



TMC’s interactive health fair Talk to Doc @ The Mall featuring “Breastfriends: Early Detection is your Best Protection” takes place on October 9, 2014 from 11am to 5pm at the Fisher Mall Activity Area in Quezon City. The event will be hosted by actress and fitness enthusiast Jackie Lou Blanco. Attendees may avail of free medical services - blood pressure check, BMI and nutrition counseling and breast examination- from 11am to 2pm.
