Premier health institution The Medical City (TMC) zeroes in on holistic and preventive health care with the opening of its Lifestyle and Wellness Center in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer and obesity, account for 75 percent of total healthcare costs. They are also the most preventable type of disease. Healthy living can however help prevent many of these chronic diseases.

The Medical City Lifestyle and Wellness Center focuses on lifestyle interventions and diabetes care which includes diabetes screening, nutrition counseling, diagnostic services, and Endocrinologist and Nephrologist consultation. Careful diabetes care can reduce risk of serious, even life-threatening complications.

Other services available in the center are executive check-ups, dental care, eye care, cardiac care, diagnostic laboratory and imaging as well as consultations and treatments in all major medical specialties.

The Medical City (TMC) Lifestyle and Wellness Center had its grand launch on April 23, 2014. Present during the event were TMC President & CEO Dr. Alfredo R.A. Bengzon, Chairman of the Board Dr. Augusto P. Sarmiento, SVP for Finance and Administrative Services Group Benita J. Macalagay, SVP for Medical Services Group Dr. Eugenio Jose F. Ramos, Luzviminda M. Tulod and Miguel Tuason, VP and AVP for Operations, Proser Health Services Inc.
