Unveiling of The Medical City Pangasinan

The Medical City (TMC) Pangasinan, the latest addition to The Medical City healthcare network, has unveiled its plans for the renovation and expansion of the hospital, providing the public a glimpse of the future of world-class healthcare in the region.

The unveiling held on December 9, 2015 was led by TMC Chairman of the Board Dr. Augusto P. Sarmiento, President and CEO Dr. Alfredo R.A. Bengzon, and TMC Pangasinan CEO Dr. Alfonso U. Bengzon.

TMC Pangasinan, formerly known as University of Pangasinan Medical Center (UPMC), is a Category 3 (Tertiary) hospital with a 70-bed capacity and 50 doctors’ clinics.

Owned by several doctors based in Dagupan City, UPMC’s original name was Pangasinan Medical Center which opened its doors on January 1, 1972. PHINMA took over as owners of the hospital in 2009 and renamed it the University of Pangasinan Medical Center.

TMC acquired UPMC in May 2015 and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 20, 2015 with its trade name The Medical City Pangasinan or TMC Pangasinan.

The hospital is fully accredited by the Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and Regional Health Office. Further development of the hospital is under-way for its new ground-breaking patient services. Renovation and construction are expected to be completed by 2017.
