The collaboration connects primary and preventive care with advanced hospital and specialty services through a coordinated referral pathway.

Pasig City, Philippines The Medical City (TMC) and Fullerton Health Philippines have entered into a partnership aimed at providing patients with a more connected healthcare experience, linking primary and preventive care at the clinic level with advanced diagnostic, specialty, emergency, inpatient, and surgical services when needed.

Through the partnership, Fullerton Health Philippines’ patients who underwent preventive health services and initial medical assessments may be referred to The Medical City should they require further evaluation, specialized treatment, or hospital-based care through a coordinated clinic-to-hospital referral process.

The collaboration is designed to help patients navigate different levels of healthcare more efficiently, ensuring that their care does not end when their needs extend beyond what can be provided in the clinic setting.

“Healthcare should feel connected from the patient’s perspective. Whether a patient comes in for a routine consultation or eventually requires specialized treatment or hospitalization, there should be a clear pathway that helps them get the appropriate care at the right time,” said Dr. Ruben G. Kasala, Executive Vice President and CEO of The Medical City Ortigas. “Our partnership with Fullerton Health Philippines allows us to strengthen that continuum and make the capabilities of The Medical City more accessible to patients.”

Under the referral process, patients initially assessed at Fullerton Health Philippines who are determined to require a higher level of medical intervention may be endorsed to TMC for appropriate evaluation and management. Depending on the patient’s clinical needs, this may include advanced diagnostic procedures, consultations with specialists and subspecialists, emergency care, hospitalization, or surgical treatment.

The coordinated approach also enables better communication and referral management between Fullerton Health Philippines and TMC, supporting continuity as patients move from one level of care to another.

For patients, this means having a clearer healthcare journey: beginning with accessible primary care and preventive services and, when necessary, connecting to the broader clinical capabilities and specialist expertise available across The Medical City network.

At Fullerton Health Philippines, we want our patients to feel supported at every stage of their healthcare journey. Our partnership with The Medical City gives patients the confidence that wherever their healthcare needs take them, they have a coordinated team helping them move forward,” said Carmie de Leon, Country Manager of Fullerton Health Philippines.

By connecting these capabilities through an established referral pathway, the two organizations aim to reduce gaps between primary and hospital-based care and help patients receive timely, appropriate treatment throughout their healthcare journey.

For TMC, the partnership also supports its broader approach of building an integrated healthcare ecosystem that brings together its hospitals, clinics, physicians, and healthcare partners around the needs of the patient.
